The Centaur is a fast melee unit and is the seventh unit received in the campaign. It costs 85 gems to summon one.  While the main Centaur character is only introduced in 6-4, you can unlock the centaur for two moonstones after 2-9.

Behavior[]

The Centaur is a half human, half horse creature. He's fast and also has good defense values. They normally attack by stabbing their spear towards an enemy, but their special throws their spear at a great distance, going through multiple enemies later on. The special at tier 4 or 5 will go through the same enemy multiple times if it's grounded, making the centaur a fantastic choice for rushing castles or certain bosses. Outside of rushing levels, the Centaur can also handle dangerous enemies such as a Lich rapidly on its own.

Special[]

The Centaur throws a spear after 0.46s across a distance of 500, and the damage scales with the special stat for every tier, recovering after 0.79s.

In tier 1, the centaur throws a spear that hits one enemy. (25 Essence)

in tier 2 it spawns an invisible force in addition to the spear that will push enemies to the right, a distance of 50 over the course of 1.5s, this is repeated for as long as the enemies are in that force. (35 Essence)

In tier 3, the spear no longer spawns an invisible force along with the spear. (45 Essence)

In tier 4 and tier 5 the spear goes though multiple enemies. Within 0.46 seconds, where the spear would have traveled a distance of 322, the spear will create an explosion of radius 100 that hits every lane, dealing 57 damage at tier 4, and 92 damage at tier 5. This spear will go below the enemy after hitting once, damaging them for every frame that the spear is on an enemy, and it will also go through multiple enemies. Thus, it is optimal to set the game speed to default and not 1.5x or 2x if you want the most damage out of a spear throw if you plan to abuse this glitch. Enemies hit will also be pulled by the spear for 0.52s, while the damage dealt per hit will be the exact same for the entire special, but because the spear is moved below the enemy once it hits an enemy, it will only damage most flying units once. The fact that the special damages an enemy multiple times also means that bosses such as Dark Magma and castles can be killed with one special. (60/70 Essence at Tier 4/5)

As an enemy[]

The centaur as an enemy type is nearly identical to your centaur's stats, but the initial health and damage at tier 1 is 250 HP and 30 Attack, instead of 400 HP and 50 Attack.

When killed, centaurs give 20 essence.

Trivia[]

  • The centaur was born in an art contest. The unit of the first place winner (Nour) would be added to Legendary Wars 2.0, which is the centaur. While the Centaur drawn by Nour isn't exactly the same as the one in-game, there are references to the design done by Nour, such as the Helmet, shield on the back legs, and torso armor. The name of the main Centaur character, is also named after Nour.
  • The centaur is one of the few units whose stats differ in the GameClub version compared to the final release of the original game, where attack increases by 3 per upgrade instead of 4 per two upgrades.
  • The centaur used to be unlocked after 6-4, but 2.3 changed it to unlock after 2-9.
  • He currently doesn't have an opposite monster. There is currently no one with similar powers.
